Film Wedding Photography - Why we brought it back

A Story with Kiara & Pablo

When Kiara and Pablo, an Australian couple, found us through Instagram, I never imagined this experience would transform the way I see photography. From the beginning, Kiara had one very specific request: she wanted her wedding to be captured on film photography (or analog photography, as it’s technically called).
At first, I thought it would be simple to meet her request — but the process turned into an unforgettable personal and professional journey.

A Reunion with Film

I remembered I had a Nikon F3 camera that my uncle had given me years ago. It was in such perfect condition that after a few tests, it inspired me to search for an additional body that could work with the modern Nikon lenses I already owned. I wanted to combine the latest technology with the magic of film.

That’s how my reunion with analog photography began. I dove into researching all I could about the different types of film available — their advantages and limitations, developing processes, and best practices for weddings. It was a fascinating path that led me to connect with many passionate film photographers who shared advice and helped me make key decisions.

Kiara’s Reason

On the wedding day, as Kiara was getting ready to walk down the aisle, I asked her why she chose film for such an important moment. Her answer was simple, but powerful: "It just feels different from digital photography."

That statement stayed with me. In a world dominated by digital technology, choosing a traditional method — one that carries more risks and requires greater commitment — is almost an act of resistance. But it’s also a way to bring authenticity and character to the memories of a once-in-a-lifetime day.

A Worthwhile Result

Photographing a wedding on film is, without a doubt, a challenge. From choosing the right stock to the careful handling of development, every step demands responsibility.
But the results are truly one-of-a-kind. The texture, the colors, the depth that film provides are nearly impossible to replicate with digital cameras.

Today, thanks to this experience, analog photography has become an extension of the services we offer. I’m deeply grateful to Kiara and Pablo for trusting me with this challenge — one that reignited my passion for photography.

Inspiration for the Future

If you’re looking for a wedding photographer and are considering incorporating film into your celebration, I invite you to explore this option. It’s not just a nod to the past — it’s a way to capture the essence of your special day with timeless artistic value.
Thank you for reading this story — and for considering a different approach to documenting one of the most important moments of your life.
